August 3 - 7, the "Region" hosted the very first "AYSO" soccer
camp to be held in La Habra. We had 48 participants, with 25 campers
attending the half-day camp and another 20 plus attending the full day camp.
Region 94, in conjunction with UK International Soccer Camps put the camp
together. Special thanks go out to Scott and Megan Ryan for hosting our
coaches Thom and Collum, and to Renee Acedo for hosting Mark. They said it
truly was an exciting cultural exchange for them and their kids, who grew
from the experience by hosting these three coaches.
The camp was broken down into three groups; (4 - 6 year olds), (7 -10 year
olds) and (12 and older), to ensure the optimal balance of fun, challenge
and skill development. The coaches were extremely professional and
knowledgeable and were selected based on their ability to create an
environment that promoted fun, learning and sportsmanship. Players were
encouraged to express themselves in order to develop confidence and
creativity on the field.
A few of the events held during the week were "Crazy Dress" day and the
"World Cup" finals that ended camp. The camp ended with an Awards
Presentation where each player was recognized for their participation.
Based on the feedback received from the campers and parents, we will sign up
to have the camp next year.

We are Region 94 of the American Youth Soccer Organization. Founded in 1974, we provide a fun recreational youth soccer program to the children of La Habra, Fullerton, Brea and the surrounding communities. In AYSO, Everyone Plays! As with all AYSO regions, we are a volunteer organization. Our members give freely of their time and talent to to help make our soccer program a fun experience for our players. Please, join us!
